SSC CHSL Syllabus 2016 for 10+2 Exam , ssconlie.nic.in ,ssc 10+2 syllabus

SSC CHSL  is also known as SSC 10+2 (HSC)Exam, OR SSC LDC (lower divisional clerk)and DEO Exam, so don't get confuse with these because posts are different but exam is one and syllabus also same.



Before, we see the syllabus, you must know the Selection Process of the  CHSL Exam.

The Selection process is of Written exam and followed by typing test. The Structure, scheme and syllabus for CHSL Written exam is given as follows


 Staff selection commision(SSC) is accepting online application forms from all eligible candidates for the recruitment for the posts of postal assistant ,lower divisional clerk (LDC) , dataentry operator (DEO) through online examinations .



This SSC CHSL exam will be conducted 7th January & 5th February 2017 and Tier-II (Descriptive Paper) on 9th April 2017.. As per notification of SSC CHSL Recruitment 2016, total available vacancies are 5134 . Application mode is online. Starting date for online application forms is 7 october 2016. among them only aproximately 5000 are selected.exam syllabus is divided into four sections each section carry 50 marks and toal of 200 marks.




Written Exam (objective type ): All those candidates who successfully submited applications before the last date will be called for a the Written Exam .candidate must download the exam hall ticket(admit card)
The Date and Venue  and time of exam will be mentioned in the call letter.

The written exam is of 200 marks and 200 question and these section are divided inot four subsections .exam time is of 2 hours .exam is computer based.

Total Marks: 200 Marks

Total time allotted: 75 minutes

1. English (50 marks)
2. Quantitative (50 marks)
3. General Intelligence (50 marks)
4. General knowledge (50 marks)


Remember, there is negative marking system in the exam and for each wrong answer there will be deduction of 0.50 mark.there will be no deduction if question is not attempted.

If, you look at this syllabus,  you will find that syllabus, is almost same as ssc cgl but difficulti level of the exam is easy as compare to CGL .level of exam is 12th class and that CGL is graduate level.
while there is no sectional cut off and on the basis of overall marks candidate will be stood in the list.

1) General Awareness  (25 Questions / 50 Marks)

This is the less time consuming as compare to other sections  and high scoring part of the exam , only the condition is that, you should be god in the GK and not definite syllabus for this section .
preperation of previous years question paper will be helpfull for the exam. and candidate should be best in current affairs.


regular newspaper will help lot in the exam. or websites like gktoday and others are helpful
for the exam.

•    This part covers general awareness .
•    Topics related to everyday science and schemes of government.

•    Knowledge about India and its neighbors  (history, culture, geography, general science, economic and scientific research)

2) General Intelligence and Reasoning (25 Questions  for 50 Marks)

If you appear for any of the competitive exams like  Banks, IBPS, UPSC , Railways, etc, then reasoning is important now a days though the level of this section in the ssc CHSL is moderate and not hard much like other exams.

preparing for this section may be easy and don't neglet it could cost you .


the syllabus is not going out of the box generally we know it.

3) English Section (25 Questions carrying 50 Marks)
I think english is the easiest section of the exam (right?). don't take english as easy and this could be the tough part of the exam and be carefull about the english.

bu english can be scoring part too.

The Questions in this sections comprises of : Sentence Correction, One word Substitution, Cloze Passage, Comprehension passage, Synonyms / Antonyms , Homophones, Idioms, Phrases, Commonly Mis-Spelt words, Narration, change of Voice, Use of Article, Adjectives, Adverbs, verbs etc

4) Quantitative Aptitude  (25 Questions carrying 50 Marks)
candidates those are good in math i.e. in aptitude could score maximum marks but those are not good in maths this could be nightmare for those candidates.

This section is moderate to difficult not that much hard like SSC CGL . For some, this section is most easy but for some this section is a hard .but as a exam is based on CHSL then we could imagine the difficulty level .
so be careful in this section mst of the questions will be difficult too.
The Questions from this section can be : Basic Maths, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry Mensuration, Statistics etc
